Keylong in Himachal Pradesh was the coldest place in the state as it recorded minus 7.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, Shimla's meteorological department Centre Director Manmohan Singh said.
While Kinnaur's Kalpa recorded a low of minus 2.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
The minimum temperature in Kufri was 3 degrees Celsius, followed by Dalhousie (4.8 degrees Celsius) and Manali (5 degrees Celsius), the weatherman said.
On Wednesday, state capital Shimla recorded a low of 5.8 degrees Celsius, adding that the weather in the state remained dry in the later part of the day.
Meanwhile, the Himalayan shrines of Kedarnath and Yamunotri in Uttarakhand have closed for the winters amid heavy snowfall in the upper reaches of the state.
